St.
Mary's Syrian
Orthodox Church in Waterford
is a very lovely and beautiful place to worship our Lord on Sunday
Mornings.
Although it is a small congregation, the members are very close and
warmly knit together... perhaps, the perfect definition for a large
family, taking care of each other at
time of sadness and rejoice at times of happiness. Everyone in the
whole church
is very active, especially the youth. The youth group at St. Mary's has
evolved into
something more ideal for the church.

| St. Mary's Church conducts worship
services according to the rich and ancient liturgical traditions of the Syrian
Orthodox Church. Much of the liturgical work of the Church were originally
written in Syriac, the Edessene dialect of Aramaic, which our Lord Jesus Christ
and his disciples spoke. During the last century these work have been
translated into other languages. At St. Mary's Syrian Orthodox Church, we use
Malayalam translations to the extent they are available. The liturgical services in the church are
held in Malayalam.
The
Holy Qurbano is being celebrated on every second and fourth Sundays at 10.30 am followed by the morning prayer at St.
Patrick Catholic Church, Waterford. In
addition to the members, a lot of Syrian Orthodox faithful and well-wishers
from the neighboring localities also attend Holy Qurbano regularly. Church
members provide refreshments after the service. We welcome everyone to visit the church and join us in
worship services according to the ancient traditions of the Syrian Orthodox
Church.
